A new kitchen is a wonderful opportunity to breathe fresh life into the heart of the home. Whether it’s made from solid hardwood or painted poplar, it really is worth investing in properly made units.

process

I aim to work with you from the initial brief through to the final installation to create a kitchen with which you are truly happy. Initially the room is measured, your ideas and needs are discussed and I will provide suggested designs. These are typically three dimensional drawings that will enable you to really envisage your kitchen and get a feel for the layout. This allows for any alterations or additions to be made before giving you a quote. If you are happy with the costings, work will start as soon as is mutually convenient. An average sized kitchen takes from 4-6 weeks from start of construction to fitting. During this time I encourage you to come and see the build progress of your kitchen in the workshop.

cabinets

The cabinets are made from an 18mm oak veneered sheet material that provides stability and economy of construction. Attached to these are 27mm solid wood frames and doors.

hardware

The kitchens have inset cabinet doors in combination with modern European hinges that allow a controlled close. The same applies to drawers - traditional dovetailed oak construction mounted on 60 kg controlled close runners. This means that a drawer can be filled with heavy cast iron pans yet still open and close as smoothly as it would were it empty. A perfect mix of tradition and modern innovation. There are also a wide variety of pullout larders and corner cupboard storage solutions to build into a kitchen.

painting and finishing

All veneer and hardwood is sprayed with 3 coats of satin lacquer providing a tough and wipeable finish. Painted kitchens are finished with three coats of Farrow and Ball estate eggshells.

worktops

There are a large variety of materials suitable for worktops - granite, slate, wood, or manmade options. I can work with you to find the best surface to suit your needs and budget.

pricing

An Ashworth bespoke kitchen is more affordable than you might think. Please enquire about guideline prices for the featured kitchens.

Quotes are free. If you are happy with the quote a 10% deposit is put down to secure the time put aside for construction. A further 40% is payable upon starting the build. The balance is then due upon completion.
